Dan Scaletta / Manager
Dan has worked at a few different music stores in Winnipeg over the last 35 years. In that time he has taught drums and sold music equipment ! Dan feels the most important and most rewarding part of his chosen career is all the great relationships he has developed with other musicians, business owners, co-workers and clients. “I came to Mar-Schell’s Music in 2008 and quickly grew to love this store, having all that great gear on the showroom floor is just the icing on the cake” . As the manager of Mar-Shell's, as well as an avid musician for 50 years, Dan has developed a vast knowledge of musical instruments of all kinds. Mark Galbon / Owner
The owner of Mar-Shell's Music, Mark has been teaching and performing locally for over 39 years. Mark founded the non-profit "Campfire Junkies" band program, which has contributed to local charities and the social scene in Winnipeg for over 25 years.
Kalen started at Mar-Schell's as a young student, eager to learn. Today, he is a wonderful pianist and trumpeter, and one of Mar-Schell's finest teachers.
Bruce “Jake” Jacobs / Repair Technician
Born in New England, raised in Halifax, NS and currently living in Winnipeg, MB, Bruce “Jake”Jacobs has witnessed and experienced the many sides of the music business. His solid and imaginative playing has had him accompanying a diverse range of artists through many genres of music. Jake has performed, toured and recorded with a virtual who’s who of the Canadian and international music scenes- artists such as the Rankin Family/Sisters, Natalie MacMaster, Ramsey Lewis, Herb Ellis, the Powder Blues Band, Murray McLaughlin, the Shuffle Demons, Carlos del Junco, Ellen McIlwaine, Roger Whittaker, Colleen Peterson, Amos Garrett, Ben E. King, Anne Murray, Gene McLellan, Cindy Church, Petula Clark, Ron Paley and hundreds of others. He was the touring bassist for Canadian rock icons Streetheart 2008 through 2017, playing sold out shows across western Canada. Musical theatre is another area of expertise for Jake- he has been in the pit for over 35 professional theatre productions in several major Canadian cities. Jake was also a contributing editor to Guitar World’s Bass Guitar magazine for several years, and had over two dozen equipment reviews published in that international publication. He is also a highly regarded fretted instrument technician and counts many respected artists and session players among his clients, and currently can be found utilizing this expertise at Mar-Schell’s Music in Winnipeg, MB.
