Born into a family of musicians, Kieran has been surrounded by music his entire life. An unrelenting passion and inherent understanding for and of music was quite evident from a very young age. When his grandparents bought him a drum set for his eighth birthday, everything changed. That passion immediately became an obsession. His childhood years were spent playing along to the albums of the artists he loved listening to. As childhood turned into adolescence, bands quickly started to form, and with that came the advent of live shows. In his last year of high school, an interest and yearning to understand Jazz on a deeper level became his main focus. When it came time to make the "career choice," there really wasn't any other option.

Kieran graduated in 2020 from Brandon University with a Bachelor's of Music Degree in Jazz Performance (drum set) with distinction, and as member of the Dean's list. Through his four years at BU, he had the opportunity to learn from and work with some brilliant musical minds, and through those experiences gained invaluable knowledge about the language of music and what it really means to play music with other people - along with everything else that comes with a music degree.

Kieran has been a private drum set instructor and clinician for the last 5 years, and has worked with students of all ages and skill levels. Lessons are of course structured towards the needs of the student, however, there is always some aspect of the lesson that is geared towards the wants of the student as well. His goal as an instructor is to encourage musical growth while maintaining the impetus of why we play music in the first place - it takes us to a place that nothing else can. Learning about it should take us there as well.
